Full description

A WELL-DEFINED DRY MOAT HAVING NO STRUCTURAL REMAINS WITHIN THE ENCLOSED AREA. THE ENTRANCE IS ONTHE NORTH EAST SIDE. THE OUTER MOAT IS NOW SILTED AND IS BARELY VISIBLE ON THE APS. LE PATOURELTHINKS IT WAS PROBABLY A TEMPLAR MANOR (CF 9258.04) AND MAY HAVE BEEN A GRANGE.

The article in Source (4) argues that the documentary evidence points to the site of the preceptory being 24 miles further east at Weedley, Near South Cave in the East Riding.See Also MNY17091.
