More information : (previously recorded with NZ 16 NE 8) A building stone found in 1864 at Milecastle 10 (Walbottle Dene) (NZ 16 NE 8) inscribed "c Car..."; now in the Black Gate Museum. It has been variously mis-read and was at one time wrongly ascribed to Housesteads. (1)
