Two altars, with plain sides, (No. 1689) 15" x 32" and the other (No. 1700) 23" x 35" were found in 1914 about 120 yds west of Chesterholm. Both are now in Chesters Museum.
At least 14 more altars have been found in and around the fort and comprise: 1683 to Cocidius 1684 to the Fortune of the Roman People 1685 to the genius of the Commandant's house 1686-8 and 1690 to Jupiter 1692 to the Mother Goddess 1693 to Mercury 1694 to Neptune 1695 to Sattada 1696 to Silvanus 1697 to Veteris 1699 to the Veteres.
[Althogh not noticed by Lewis in `Temples in Roman Britain', 1966, the altars may possibly indicate the site of a temple or temples.] (2)
The site falls in the limits of the settlement, but has no surface remains in its immediate vicinity. (3)
