Summary : A Roman altar to Maponus was found in the garden at Nunney c 1755. It is now in Carlisle Museum.
More information : NY 537428. A Roman altar in the garden at Nunney. Its
original site is not known but it had only been set up in the
garden comparatively recently (1755) judging by its condition. (1).

Collingwood suggests it may have come from Castlesteads - now in
Carlisle Museum. (2).
