More information : An altar seen by Cotton who published the last three lines. Horsley found the stone "placed for a seat at the backdoor of Mr Forster's house at Chesterhope". The name of the diety was probably carved on the capital. The inscription was translated as "To ... The First Mounted Cohort of Vangiones one thousand strong, of which Marcus Peregrinius Super, tribune, is in command. (1) Found at Chesterhope near Risingham. Now lost.
