Summary : Excavations between 1902-3 discovered 350 coins, pottery, tesserae, glass, beads, bronze pins, rings, a buckle and two knives. Alleged temple or villa site.
More information : Excavations were carried out in 1902-3 on the 'site
of a temple' in Normangate Field (TL 117978) and at a 'Roman
villa' in Peterborough Road, Castor (TL 125983). There are no
details of these sites in existence,but finds from them included
350 coins of all dates, Nene valley pottery, tessarae, glass,
beads, bronze pins, rings and a buckle and two knives. (1)
