Summary : Supposed site of a Roman tower (derived from measurements from adjoining towers/milefortlet) allegedly lying beneath Beckfoot fort, but never found (part of the Roman Frontier Defence).
More information : (NY 0894 4885). Signal tower no 14b; information from R L Bellhouse (1a).
Not located, probably lost by erosion; Beckfoot Fort (NY 04 NE 12) added to the line of defence at this position (1b).
There is no trace either on the ground or on air photos of this supposed tower, and the siting given by authority 1 cannot be verified. (1)
