Summary : Scheduled section of Iron Age or Early Medieval? defensive dyke or boundary. Surviving earthwork surveyed at 1:1250 scale. This feature is visible as an earthwork on air photographs.
More information : (SE 4571 0005 - SE 4584 0010) Bank and ditch, well-defined. (1) Ridge is partly being trampled down by pedestrians. Modern causeways at SE 4578 0008 and SE 4580 0009. Resurveyed at 1:1250 scale. (2) (Original survey document in Linear Archive File) SE 457 001. Roman Ridge; section 150 yds (140m) long W of Bow Brown Wood. Scheduled. (3) An Iron Age or early medieval dyke is visible as an earthwork on air photographs running between SE 4571 0005 and SE 4585 0011. The feature comprises a broad bank with an average width of 6m. (5)
