The ditch is 5.0m in width and up to 0.3m in depth but on the S and E sides it has been reduced by silting to a terrace-like feature 5.0m wide. The earthwork remains of the motte described by previous aurthorites were seen centred at SO2784 4102. The motte mound is surrounded by a circular ditch approximately 40m in diameter, and the on the top of the motte there are a number of pits which may be associated with the foundations of a building. The site was seen as an earthwork and mapped from aerial photographs. (7)
