Summary : The ploughed down remains of a Mound, interpreted as a Motte and the alleged site of a Moat, which could not be located on the ground.
More information : (SO 356365) The ploughed down remains of a mound, in the centre of a field 43 yds NW of Turnastone Churchyard wall, described as a mound and moat. (1) (Similar to those at Chanstone Tump SO 33 NE 16). (1) SO 35683653 Remains of mound; visible as light mark, surrounded by dark rectangular crop mark. (2) Ree's shows an unfortified manor house or court house symbol in this area. (3) There is no trace on the ground of this moated mound. (4) Considered to be a ringwork by Shoesmith. (5)
