Summary : Remains of motte, roughly oval in form with a surrounding ditch. The mound in 1972 was 130 feet in diameter at the base rising 14 feet above the bottom of the ditch. Scheduled.
More information : (SO 38297322) Motte (NR). (1) Mound of roughly oval form with a surrounding ditch, partly destroyed. The mound is about 130ft in diameter at the base and rises about 14ft above the bottom of the ditch. It was prehaps a castle mound. (2) This motte is as described. The ditch is 1.1m deep on the north side. Published survey (25") revised. (3) Additional references. (4-6) The motte is visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs, and has been mapped RCHM'Es Marches Uplands Mapping Project. (7)
