Summary : Findspots of two Roman altars; one was dedicated to Belatucader and is inscribed, Deo Behti Cadro Antr -- Posvit ar -- etc. The other was inscribed ALA TVVP PO.
More information : (NY 328 592) An altar 6-5/8 inches high dedicated to Belatucader was found in 1792 (1) or 1803 (2) in cutting a drain at a place called Haw, or Hall-stones. In 1834 it was in the possession of Mr Mayson Hodgson, of Longburgh. The Lysons' were told that it was found between Burgh Castle and Wormanby. It is inscribed, Deo Behti Cadro Antr -- Posvit ar -- etc. (1-2)

Now at Rindle House (NY 313590).Full details of inscription (Not noticed by Lewis 'Temples in Roman Britain' 1966, but suggests probable site of temple). Part of another altar found in, or before, 1749 in the house of one John Hodgson at Burgh-by-Sands. Now lost. Inscribed ALA TVVP PO. Full details of description given. (3)

Hallstones Bridge is centred at NY 332 590 which is approximately half way between the site of Burgh Castle and Wormanby. (4)
