Summary : The Benedictine Priory at Kilpeck was founded in 1134 and dissolved in 1428 when the cell was united to Gloucester. There are no traces of any earthworks, although formerly there was a platform 70 yards South-West of the house which may have been related to the priory.

Benedictine house which was dissolved or moved elsewhere before 1500. (2)

"The Priory, house barn & earthworks...occupies the site of a small cell of the Benedictine Abbey of Gloucester, founded in the 12th century. The House is of two storeys originally timber framed but mostly refaced with rubble, built early in the 17th century. The barn, W of the house, is timber framed and of 5 bays.... built early in 17th cent & has an added 18th cent wing on NW. The earthworks, probably marking the site of the mediaevel priory, lie about 70 yds SSW of the house & consist of a slight platform with one or two small banks to the E of it." (3)

The Benedictine Priory at Kilpeck was founded in 1134 and dissolved in 1428 when the cell was united to Gloucester. (4)

Nothing now remains of the 12th c Priory. The 17th c house and barn are not outstanding due to recent renovations. There is no trace of the earthworks 70 yds SSW of the house or in the immediate vicinity. (5)
