Summary : 2 standing stones are reported east of Oare Post. There was no evidence for them noted during field investigation.
More information : The county SMR records two standing stones E of Oare Post at SS 8367 4643. This NGR falls at Oare Post on the junction of the main A39 road and a minor road to Oare via Robber's Bridge. There is no evidence of any standing stones in the area (1). The NGR is referenced to Grinsell (2). Grinsell actually gives the following: "Oare Post (E of) SS 799484, 2 standing stones". This NGR refers to the two standing stones on Yenworthy Common, 4km to the NW, and recorded under SS 74 NE 14 (1).
