More information : Earthworks surrounding and to the SE of Little Hereford churchyard (SO 554680) are said to represent the site of the house of the Delamere family. They are in poor condition. (1)
SO 554679: A complex of earthworks: laid against the R Teme. At least two main enclosures are represented formed of ditches up to 2.1m deep with inner banks on the north and east sides. A motte-like mound (situated at SO 55396796 on the north bank of the R Teme) rises 3.4m from a ditch on its west side. A causeway 0.4m high crosses the site from its east side to the east corner of the churchyard. The complex is defensive, almost certainly early medieval, and probably or manorial origin. Surveyed at 1:2500. (2)
