Summary : Medieval or Post Medieval field boundaries and ridge and furrow, and a Post Medieval water meadow (catchwork system) extend across the fields surrounding Kings Brompton Farm. They were visible as earthworks on aerial photographs. They are almost certainly associated with Medieval and Post medieval activity at the former hamlet at Kings Brompton Farm (NMR Monument 1175562, SS 93 SE 109). The water meadow comprises a number of parallel field gutters and lies on a steep sided stream valley. At its northen end, it may link to the water meadow associated with Leigh Farm (NMR Monument 1118248, SS 93 SE 26).
