Summary : A Bronze Age burial cairn visible as a stony mound forms part of a group (SS 94 NW 15), east of Selworthy Beacon (SS 94 NW 102). It measures about 12 metres in diameter and stands 1.1 metres high and has a large central depression. The spoil from this depression has been piled up on the west and east sides of the cairn in the form of two mounds. This is a scheduled monument.
More information : A large cairn, part of a group east of Selworthy Beacon (SS 94 NW 15), was recorded as part of the RCHME Exmoor project. The cairn was recorded using differential GPS and lies at NGR SS 92502 47907. It comprises a stony mound, covered with gorse and heather, with stone exposed in the centre. The mound is 12m in diameter and 1.1m high. The centre of the cairn has been dug out, creating a large depression, 5.7m in diameter and 1.2m deep. The spoil from this hole has been piled up on the west and east sides of the cairn in the form of two mounds (1).

The cairn is depicted on the OS 1st edition map (2).

The Bronze Age burial cairn above (1-3) is visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs. The cairn is centred at SS9250 4791 and is as described above (1). The confluent circular mound to the west (SS 9249 4791) measures about 7m in diameter and the mound to east (SS 9251 4791) measures 7m long by 5m wide. (4-5)
