Summary : "Smoky Bottom level, disused" is marked on the 6" and 25" maps. Little is known of its history. Low banks making three small enclosures with a cluster of narrow linear depressions were noted on aerial photographs. Nothing is visible on the ground.

The site of Smoky Bottom Level is in a valley bottom, now used for rough pasture. No surface indications of the mine could be seen. (7)
