Summary : Nunnery founded by Queen Eleanor is reputed to have existed at Little Kimble. This is possibly the origin of the latter Manor House. The last of these buildings were demolished in 1830. Scheduled.
More information : (SP 82790622). A nunnery founded by Queen Eleanor is
traditionally said to have existed at Little Kimble, and to have
later become the site of the manor house, the last of which was
demolished c 1830. Traces of the enclosing wall of the late manor
house are still visible. (See plan - not listed by Knowles & Hadcock
or mentioned in VCH). (1)
