The Old Priory

Summary : A large country house, built in 1512 on the site of an earlier manor house. The house saw extensive alterations in the 18th century and was again subject to further alterations c.1830 and c.1870, the last probably by William Clissold. Constructed from limestone ashlar with some roughcast render, ashlar chimneys and a Cotswold stone slate roof, the house is of two-storeys with an attic (the upper floor becoming piano nobile in the 18th century).

The Priory, North Woodchester, is a stone building with Cotswold stone roof, built on an 'H' plan in 1512 for the Duke of Norfolk. A tower was added in the 19th century.
