Summary : House built early 18th century, formerly a vicarage. The interior has a wall approximately five feet thick which is thought to be a remnant of a former pele tower. The house is of ashlar with a stone slate roof and was rebuilt mid 18th century by the Reverend William Ellison.
More information : To view statutory entry see Listed Building System. A survey of 1541 refers to a "little" tower at Kirkwhelpington as being in good repair and as being the mansion of the vicarage. The remains of the tower are incorporated into the present kitchen. (2) - (5)
