More information : [Name centred NY 48897112] A map in the British Museum, dated December 1590, has marked 'Sowtermore' with a tower symbol. (1)

This id also documented in the Inquisition Post Mortem of Humfrey Dacre of 1485. The mid 18th century Soutermoor house has no trace of earlier work. (2)
