Armathwaite Castle is a modern house, on the site of the 15th/16th century peel tower belonging to the Skelton family, situated near the river Eden at Armathwaite. (2)
A pele tower of four storeys with a recent addition and an Early Georgian front. (3) The pele tower is as described by Pevsner and is in good condition. See photograph. (4)
