Summary : Caistor Airfield was one of twenty sites selected in the late 1950s fro the deployment of American intermediate range missiles `Thor', all three of its emplacements survive and some associated ancillary buildings.
More information : TA 083 021. Caistor airfield was one of twenty sites in England selected for the deployment of the American intermediate range missile `Thor'. The station was activated in September 1959 by 269 Squadron and was operational until May 1963. All three emplacements survive along with some associated ancillary buildings including the police car garage, fire tender shed, guard/crew room and standby generator building. (1)
