Location :
Somerset
South Somerset
West and Middle Chinnock
Grid Ref : ST4632012940
Summary : Martock Fire Station was converted from a former outbuilding, possibly a coachhouse, to Manor Farm. The building is of 18th century date and is constructed from Ham stone ashlar with an asbestos cement slate roof between coped gables with gabletted finials. It is single-storey with an attic and is of three-bays. The building was part of a large formal layout in conjunction with the Manor House and was acquired in 1930 to accommodate the first motor fire engine - previous engines were kept under the Market House.
