Summary : Assize courts built in 1823 to designs by Sir Robert Smirke. The south entrance porch was added in the early 20th century. The crenellated Gothick style building is built of ashlar with slate roofs. The building is of two storeys, with nine bays, it has a chamfered plinth, eaves bands, parapets and crenellated octagonal corner turrets. The court was built inside Lincoln Castle.
