Summary : House, early-mid 19th century with possibly an earlier core and a late 20th century modernization. It is constructed from brick, colourwashed, with a pantiled roof. The house was one of a series of buildings which were Gothicised or built in the Gothick style by the Sykes family of West Ella Hall in the early-mid 19th century. However, due to it being radically altered in the 1970s, it has now lost the special architectural and historic interest which have resulted in the remaining series of houses on West Ella Road being Listed. |
