Summary : House, late 18th century, which was Gothicised in the early 19th century. It is constructed from brick, pebbledashed and colour-washed, with an pantile roof and is of two storeys in two bays. A central 20th century boarded door in a timber porch is flanked to the right and to the left by 2-light sliding sashes in architraves. There are similar, but smaller, sashes with glazing bars insimilar architraves to the first floor. The house was one of a series of buildings which were Gothicised or built in the Gothick style by the Sykes family of West Ella Hall in the early-mid 19th century. |
