The route continues to the south (see NMR SO 51 SE 229) and the northern end enters a tunnel under Symonds Yat Rock. This section of the route also incorporates Symonds Yat Station (SO 51 NE 214). |
| More information : A section of the 19th and 20th century Ross and Monmouth Railway route is visible as earthworks on aerial photographs. The route extends for 1km on a roughly NNE / SSW orientation, between SO 5571 1500 and SO 5617 1588. The route continues to the south (see NMR SO 51 SE 229 / UID: 1381973) and the northern end enters a tunnel under Symonds Yat Rock. An embankment supports the route for a length of 92m at SO 5609 1573, just to the south of the tunnel entrance. This section of the route also incorporates Symonds Yat Station (SO 51 NE 214 / UID: 497665). (1) |
