Monument Number 1387981

Hob Uid: 1387981
Location :
Northumberland
Shotley Low Quarter
Grid Ref : NZ0750050700
Summary : The 19th century historian E MacKenzie states that there was a small tower at Hole Row, but there are no documentary references to one, and no survey includes it. However, on the south side of the estate are markings in the grass which suggest that MacKenzie was correct, and locals beleive that a small tower was knocked down to provided stone to build a barn.
