Summary :
Late 14th or early 15th century tower house with 17th century extensions. Altered in 1824-7, 1845 and 1871. In 1671 it was described as `formerly a strong place having a high tower well moated about with a drawbridge... but Sir Richard Fletcher... caused the moats to be filled up (circa 1605) and made the seat very commodious and pleasant'.
