Summary : Twelve Acre Brake Battery, was completed in 1867 for 3 guns. The emplacements covered the section of ditch west towards Watchhouse Brake Battery. In 1888-92 it was rebuilt as Frobisher Battery, which was entirely within the older battery. It was armed with a single 12.5 inch gun to bombard ships entering the sound. Disarmed in 1903. Although filled in, the concrete apron is still visible. Now infilled and overgrown.
