More information : A World War Two pillbox at RAF High Ercall airfield, High Ercall, Shropshire, SJ 598 184. It is a rectangular concrete and brick pillbox with a corrugated iron roof. According to the Defence of Britain record it was built in 1940-1941. It is thought to have been disguised as a farm cottage or barn. In 1995 it was invesitgated by Major NJ Hubberstey of Number 2 Military Intelligence Company and found to be extant and in good condition. (1) |
