Summary : Site of Second World War heavy anti aircraft battery G/H29 at Hoylake. It was armed with four 3.7-inch static guns with GL Mark II radar in 1942, but this had been increased to six 3.7-inch Mark IIC and Mark III guns by 1945, when it was manned by 20 Battery of the 2nd Mobile Royal Artillery Regiment. It was retained as a Nucleus Force Headquarters Battery in 1946. |
