Summary : Site of Second World War heavy anti-aircraft battery at Ramsden to protect the ship-building yard and docks, documented as extant in 1941-2. It is not known what it was armed with. Possible remains of the monument are visible as earthworks on air photographs mapped as part of the North West Coast Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey. The feature appears to be no longer extant on the latest 2004 NMR oblique photography.
