Summary : Site of Second World War heavy anti aircraft battery at Tile Hill, for the defence of Coventry. It was armed with four 3.7-inch guns and GL Mark II radar in 1942. In 1945 it was armed with six 3.7-inch Mark IIC guns and four 3.7-inch Mark II guns, at which time it was manned by 23 Battery of the 8th Moblie regiment. It was retained as a Nucleus Force Battery headquarters in 1946, a permanently gunned position.
