More information : A sub rectangular ditched enclosure of uncertain date is visible on aerial photographs as a cropmark in a field east of Huish Barton, Nettlecombe. Centred at approximately ST 0562 3865, the enclosure is defined by an area of darker crop growth, probably a ditch, measuring up to 1.5 metres wide. The enclosure itself measures some 28 metres across. A break in the cropmark is visible on the north-western side, with traces of a terminus, suggesting a possible entranceway. The precise date of the enclosure is uncertain, but it may well belong to the later Prehistoric period, possibly the Iron Age. Two further cropmark enclosures are visible within the field which may be associated with this feature (see NMR UID 1497792 and 1497799). Further survey is required (1-2).
