Summary : Two twelve-storey H-plan tower blocks built as public housing in a mixed development redevelopment scheme. The blocks contain 136 dwellings in total. Construction was approved by committee in 1972.
More information : The blocks were constructed under the Gateshead County Borough Council. The Primary and Alternate addresses are the addresses of the individual blocks; both are current and of equal status. The Alternate Name was the name given to the contract for the development. (1)

Newbolt Court contains 67 dwellings. Tennyson Court contains 69 dwellings. Other structures that appear to have once been joined to the tower blocks have been demolished since 2007. It is not known whether these developments were part of the original redevelopment scheme.(2)

Stanley Miller Ltd.'s tender for the contract was £784,892.22. The mixed development intended to include shops; it is not known whether they were, or are still part of the actual tower blocks. (3)
