| Summary : Three Second World War road blocks are visible as structures on aerial photographs taken in 1941, though they have been removed on aerial photographs taken in 1946. The site comprises three lines of anti tank obstacles, probably pimples set along the roadside, ready to be moved into the road at short notice. There is a line along the southern side of Sea Road, around the eastern tip of West Marina Gardens and flanking the corner between Grosvenor Crescent and Caves Road. This site has been mapped from aerial photographs as part of the South East Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey NMP (Component 2). |
