Summary : Outbuilding, formerly warehouse and workshops associated with the water-powered scythe and sickle works which formerly occupied the adjacent site. Late 18th century. Coursed squared coal measures sandstone with ashlar dressings, intermediate and end ridge brick stacks and a Welsh slated roof. Two storeys, three bays, formerly with three doorways with massive stone surrounds and lintels, now with one altered to form a double doorway. The building formed part of a complex of workshops and dwellings, similar to the Abbeydale Works site in Sheffield. The mill pond, and part of the water powered forge, survive to the west of the warehouse. |
