More information : (NZ 10831973) A supposed fortified manor at Snotterton (position of symbol on map agrees with the position of Snotterton Hall) was taken down, except for part of the shell, in 1831 and rebuilt as a farmhouse, now called Raby Grange. (1-2) The farmhouse, now called Snotterton Hall is, said to have been built in the 15th century. Traces of antiquity can be seen in a mullioned window in the south east corner of the courtyards and the remains of a crocketed pinnacle on the roof of the western range of buildings. (3)

Two terraced post medieval garden platforms are visible to the south of the present day Snotterton Hall, at NZ 1085 1969. The features measure 36m x 42m and are rectangular in plan. The features were first seen on the latest HE Reconnaissance aerial photographs taken 8th December 2014. (5) |
