Summary : Sarsen stone with a plaque situated at the side of the Portway leading from Old Sarum to Stratford. It was set up to commemorate the site of the old elm tree where the Old Sarum borough Ministers of Parliament were elected. This site was used until the passing of the Reform Bill of 1832. The tablet was unveiled by the Right Honourable Stan Baldwin M.P. on the 12th June 1931.

"At the side of the Portway leading from Old Sarum to
Stratford is a Sarsen Stone bearing a bronze tablet, erected to
commemorate the site of the old elm tree beneath the branches of
which M.P.'s for the borough of Old Sarum were elected up to the
time of the passing of the Reform Bill of 1832. The tablet,
which was unveiled by the Rt. Hon. Stan. Baldwin M.P. on the
12th June 1931, bears an inscription." (2)
