Summary : A Neolithic quartzite axe with its butt missing was found at Toronto. It is now in Bowes Museum (accession number 1958/1799), but was formerly in the collection of EJW Hildyard.
More information : Neolithic stone axe with butt broken off, found at Toronto (NZ 1930). In Bowes Museum. (1) The axe of grey quartzite, 8-1/2 ins long by 3-1/2 ins wide, with buttend broken, came from the collection of E J W Hildyard. Bowes Museum Acc 1958/1799. (2)
