The present farmhouse of Houghall apparently belongs to the early 17th century and probably stands on the site of an earlier house. Traces of the moat remain in part.

Houghall Farm has no trace of architecture earlier than the 17th century. In good condition and undergoing renovation. The field to the south-west contains a general depression, but no trace of moat as such.
