Summary : A Norman church, with its origins in the late 9th or 10th century, considerably rebuilt in 1852-3 and further restored between 1870-90. The church held 60 hides of land in 1086, and in the early part of the medieval period had dependent chapels at Wokingham, Sandhurst, Hurst, Arborfield and Ruscombe. It was the centre of a hundred named from it, and is clearly a former minster. The plan comprises an aisled nave, chancel, north chapel and west tower. |

A late C11th Norman Church completely restored in 1852. See plan. The church held 60 hides of land in 1086, and in the early part of the Mediaeval period had dependent chapels at Wokingham, Sandhurst, Hurst, Arborfield and Ruscombe.
