More information : (NZ 37980171) Moat (N.R.) (1) To the west of Deighton church is a moat inclosing about four areas, doubtless the site of an old manor house.(2) In fair condition. Published survey (25") revised. (3) NZ 379017. Seignorial moat type A1 (b) at Deighton. In 1400 it was said that 'in the manor are 300 great freestones worth 10s and in the ditches round the manor are divers fish reckoned at 20s.' (4) NZ 379 017. Deighton moated site. Scheduled No NY/846. (5)
