Summary : A Royal Observer Corps underground monitoring post, built in 1962 and closed in 1968. Located at Catfoss airfield.

This underground monitoring post is situated to the east of
Brandesburton village and was built in June 1962. It is of re
enforced concrete construction and, when surveyed the air ventilator
and entrance hatch were still visible above ground. Its post number
whilst in operation was 20/M.3. The post's function was the
monitoring of nuclear explosions and fallout, as part of the UK war
monitoring organisation. The building was closed in October 1968,
when it was visited in 1992 by the Fortress Study Group it was in
good condition, but was considered to be at risk. (1)
