(2) 'A' (Hencken's 6, Daniel's 4) see plan (5). Cairn or barrow 23 feet diameter with remains of a stone-block surround. 'B' (Hencken's 14, Daniel's 5). see plan(4). Large low cairn or barrow 70 feet diameter. The remains of a north west - south east (3) west north west - east south east (5) orientated chamber are suggested by stones at the centre and a possible early excavation trench runs north west from this point. Confirmed as a barrow by Russell. 'C' confirmed as a barrow by Russell. 'D' (Hencken's 15, Daniel's 6) see plan (4). Almost completely robbed chambered cairn or barrow 36 feet diameter with stone-block round and deeply weathered chamber stones. Chamber orientated north west - south east. Ashbee suggests a closed chamber but Daniel gives an entrance at north west end. Confirmed as a barrow by Russell. 'E' Only shown on OS 25" and 6"; not seen by Russell. 'F' Confirmed as a barrow by Russell.(3-7) Only 'B' and 'D' appear to be visible on air photographs.(8) The site is on a prominent east facing spur at approximately 25 metres OD.(9a) 'A' An earth and stone barrow averaging 11 metres in diameter and 1.3 metres high with the remains of a kerb but no visible ditch. Off-centre and orientated east to west is a roughly rectangular opened granite chamber 4.5 metres by 1.7 metres and 0.8 metres deep. It is partially covered by a capstone with another lying nearby. It is in very poor condition, much disturbed by excavation and now covered by scrub and bracken. 'B' Also constructed of earth and stone and is 22 metres in diameter and 2.2 metres high with no visible ditch. Extensive digging around the perimeter may have destroyed any kerbing. Off centre and high in the barrow are two side stones of a chamber 2.5 metres apart and set almost in an east to west direction. They are at present part of a 4 metre diameter and 0.6 metre deep hole. 'C' As positioned from (1) has been destroyed and its site is covered by a concrete platforms evidently of wartime origin. There is no barrow in the vicinity as recorded in (7). 'D' A now incomplete cairn with an off centre chamber. It is 11 metres in diameter and 0.5 metres high (excluding the height of the chamber). Half the kerb is visible and it is possible that it once was a double kerb considering the number and position of stones on the south side (see illustration). The granite chamber is now 2 metres square and 0.6 metres high with one capstone in place. 'E' An earth and stone cairn built around several large boulders. The thickly scrub covered mound averages 9 metres in diameter and 1.2 metres high. 'F' No trace of a barrow could be found. Only 'A' 'B' and 'D' are scheduled within this group) Surveyed at 1:2500 on PFD. (9)
