The Market House, Abbot's Bromley. Referred to in a deed of Feb 1st
1339. The Market was established in 1222. A drawing of the Market
Square, by J Buckler in 1839, shows the Market House with the stocks
beneath it. (2)

The Market House is a hexagonal building with a pyramidal roof placed
upon six timber pillars around a central support. The roof is tiled
and has lead flashings: it is surmounted by a finial. The pillars and
roof have been considerably restored. 16th/17th century. The stocks
have disappeared. (3)

Village cross. Probably C17. Timber framed; hexagonal plain tile
roof. Hexagonal plan. Open sided structure with hexagonal timber
piers on stone pads at each angle and in the centre, supporting the
timber roof structure, the central pier continues above roof as a
cross; wavy braces extend from angle piers to wall plate. Patterned
cobble floor. (AM). (6)
