More information : (Area centred SK 08555650) Fields named Town Low. (1) (SK 08445651) Town Low a bowl barrow surmounted by a tree ring. The barrow is approx 23.0m in diameter and 0.7m in height. There is no visible ditch. The tree ring, concentric with the barrow, is 10.0m in diameter amd composed of dry stone walling, within which are a number of trees. The barrow is situated at a height of approx 950', on the summit of a prominent knoll. Town Low is referred to in a number of charitable bequests recorded on 18th and 19th century plaques in the church at Butterton. (2) No change. Published survey (1:2500) correct.
